Linux memory and Slab

I found that my Slab (a kind of kernel heap) was growing up to 250Mb:

cat /proc/meminfo | grep Slab

As shown by /proc/slabinfo and slabtop, the responsible were dentry and ext3_inode_cache. I found a solution here:

echo 2 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
